Mark Byrne was born in 1957 He has been an artist since childhood, a student in the Advanced Artist Program in Primary and Secondary School , and Byrne received a BA from the School of Liberal Arts at Ole Miss, majoring in Art (painting) and Parks & Recreation Management. Byrne works in oils, watercolor and sculpting in stone, metals and wood. His writing career began at Ole Miss while studying American Literature. He started writing poetry about twelve years ago and is now working on his second screen play. Byrne has been awarded the 2004 BASS ESPN Member of the Year for his work in Warmwater Habitat and Conservation. He was also awarded the 2004 BASS ESPN Public Relations Award for his work in multimedia promotions. He is the founder of a non-profit organization that advances outdoor recreation with a priority on youth programs.
Music, Mark plays the Clarinet and owns a beautiful guitar that looks way better than he plays it!
