My house adventure continues, my dryer died so now I will be buying and new washer and dryer. The washer works fine but the new ones work better and are cheaper to operate. I got my whole place all cleaned up and ready for winter. I did have to take a pickup truck load to the dump; modern landfill centers have many recycle stops so most of the stuff went to some of the many recycle stations. I have been looking at this really large canvas hoping I can see what needs to be painted on it; I started something yesterday morning but scraped it all off last night as it was just not working. I have a few more ideas! Today is printmaking day, got to get the Christmas cards done! I have my design, so it is cut the print block and get them printed.

I do a Santa Claus/Sinterklaas for the teens and young adults living on the street in downtown Olympia on Christmas Eve. I have almost gotten everything I need for some good “Christmas care packages”. I fill one gallon plastic zip lock bags with goodies and personal items to at least make Christmas a little better for these young people. I don’t dress as the Sinterklaas except for a red stocking cap! All of the products I purchased and friends donated, it takes a few folks to pull this off!

Have a MERRY CHRISTMAS/YULE!

GOAL!
This was the last goal the Seattle Thunderbirds scored in their 3 -1 win over the TriCities Americans. you can see the puck in the upper right side of the goal area as it is entering the net. This was a good match and no fights, well played!

I have been busy this summer working on my house, new deck, guest bathroom, roof, sky lights and outside paint. Also been working on my fence, it is old and weather has not been kind to the wood fence. I have been using the old deck boards on the fence, recycle where you can, many of the deck boards have always been under cover of roof and is in really good shape, so it would be a crime to waste the good wood!
Billboard Occupation Chehalis WA USA 5 by mebyrne57

BILLBOARD OCCUPATION

Chehalis, WA. USA, 8 September 2014

Approximately 40 protesters from two Gender based groups gathered under the big political billboard at the intersection of I-5 and Rush Road Northbound exit ramp #72. The billboards normally conservative message was replaced with a message proclaiming the groups two main issues at this protest event. The coal trains that move through Lewis County daily and lack of health care programs for Transgendered persons.

The two groups protesting are (TWAC) Trans and or Women's Action Camp and (GASS) Gender Alliance of the South Sound.

Victoria Quaintance (GASS) Stated that public funds used to support the transportation of coal through the South Sound area of Washington State could be better spent to provide heath care plans that includes plans for transgendered persons issues. Currently Washington State Medicaid denies treatment for Transgendered residents deemed necessary by the American Medical Association.

Lewis County Sheriff’s Department responded to the protest and worked to minimize conflicts between protesters and local auto traffic. One of the Deputies stated that SWAT had been called to remove the groups banner from the billboard. SWAT never showed to remove the banner, it seemed like Lewis County Sheriff’s Department was working to keep tensions from escalating as most all the Deputies were plain clothes Deputies. A representative from the billboards owner arrived and climbed the billboard to remove the banner. Shortly after the banner was removed the peaceful protest broke-up and by 11:20 AM almost all of the Protesters and Deputies had left the protest site.
